I also thought that was a horrible title. I guess what bothers me about it is that it basically says nothing. What, he rises to the challenge? He rises from the dead? He is now a cake, and he is rising? It's kind of a meaningless statement. Look at Batman Forever, that actually describes the movie: someone tries to thoroughly destroy Batman and blow up his hideout, but he comes back and beats them and proves that there will always be a Batman. It describes what it is. The Dark Knight Rises is basically nonsense because, as you say, he's already risen, and after chasing a guy through Hong Kong there's not much rising left to do.
