-The Hobbit is coming together. The film union boycott may have ended, but New Line may still decide to film it somewhere else. That seems like a stupid idea since ALL the pre-production work in New Zealand will be lost, including the entire town of Hobbiton that was built. I was all ready to dismiss the press releases as bullshit, but they announced the cast yesterday or today. It looks like they may actually get the fucker filmed after all.
-Director Stephen Norrington is off The Crow. I was looking forward to this movie with him as a director, but that is no more. I guess he left because an "unnamed actor" was pushing to change a bunch of the script and story elements and Mr. Norrington wanted none of it. At least someone in Hollywood still has some standards.
-The next movie Stephen Spielberg is directing is called...wait for it....ROBOPOCALYPSE! It will be about humanity trying to survive through a robot uprising. Sounds great! Robopocalypse is the name of the book the film will be based on, but they had some other title ideas including: Terminator, I, Robot, and The Matrix. Now, if someone were to direct a movie called Robocopalypse, I'd be all over that shit!
-Syfy has greenlit another Battlestar Galactica spinoff. I'd be excited for this if the ending to Battlestar Galactica was worth a shit. As it is, I feel like I wasted 4 years of my life on a show that spit urine in my face before raping me in the last 2 hours of its run.
